add it to the blogroll

i am so happy to share these!

cup of jo is my favorite add in a while. joanna goddard is a magazine writer & blogs about art, photography, fashion and design.

the bedlam of beefy
is another great find; he writes his blog about interiors, housewares, fashion & design in general. there's another sweet little detail about uncle beefy - he's from right here in the pacific nw.

onitsuka tigers

i want a pair so bad, but i can't decide, they are all so fantastic.

zappos has a great selection, but i think i'll head to edie's to try some on first.

many things to diy

i have so many projects lined up, but the past 2 weeks & the following 3 have been & will be pretty hectic. i am hoping i can squeeze a couple of these in before too long.

found typography

for some reason my places postings were too much pressure for a monday. plus - i'm not a pro behind a camera & shooting products in retail settings is really hard for me. as i try to focus more on my own design skills i figured that paying more attention to typography, texture & pattern might be nice, hell, it may even be found in a place worth mentioning.

i walk by this building in capitol hill multiple times a week, but i just recently noticed those lovely, outlined letters. from the color combo to details of the a's - i'm loving this lettering.

music to listen to

here are 2 new albums that you have to pick up - erykah badu's new amerykah & santogold's self-titled album.

i saw erykah badu with the roots last night. amazing show (even though it was freezing & i found myself in winter jacket, hat & mittens) - it was the first time i had seen her solo & it was incredible. her new stuff is really energetic & full of great beats & she, of course, looked amazing - more on that later.

a friend had told me about santogold a few weeks ago & while in portland, i read an article about her in planet magazine. i was intrigued, sampled the album & bought it 2 seconds later. she is a philly-based artist being compared over & over to m.i.a. i see the comparison, but think she brings a different style as well.

craigslist finds

eeek! i'm so busy with my job today, trying to get out right at 5 to see the roots & erykah badu. that, plus the fact that i didn't do any prior searching makes this weeks craigslist finds a little bland, but here's one thing you just have to snatch up.

this steel desk is frickin' free!

i want to wear these things

some looks i'm loving.

i love the jumper, i've been thinking about giving it a whirl.

i love this effortless tomboy look. she makes it look so feminine.

ohhhh - wide leg trousers, why do you only seem to work on tall, straight lined women?

etsy wednesday

i wouldn't consider myself a bike nerd, but some days i get close. i just got it back from the shop & now it's pouring rain, preventing me from riding - i miss my bike. today is an etsy tribute to her, my lovely motobecane.
