letterpress wedding invites

i was lucky enough to work with some dear friends to create their wedding invitations. they wanted something that would be fun but romantic with a definite orange palette. i did some initial sketches for the floral border & bart was able to translate it into digital format. once they were designed, i sent them off to swash press (highly, highly recommended for all of your letterpress needs).

i'm really happy with how they turned out & am convinced that bart & i could make a living (or some pocket change) doing this.

locker calendar for emma

i promised my niece a while back that i would make her a calendar for her locker. i forgot, she didn't & i was so gently reminded yesterday on the phone. here it is dear, i'll put it in the mail tomorrow.

i'm really loving all of the free vector work out there; it's great for quick projects like this. thanks to createsk8 for this floral & bird art.

amelia roberts - made in china, bought by us

uk based graphic designer, amelia roberts, created these two posters to show how america's blame on china for carbon emissions & their part in global warming is a little off. sometimes we forget that we fuel the industry with the purchase of mass produced goods. you should also check out her other work, it's quite remarkable as well.

i have to admit, this has been sitting in my stilldottie bookmarks for way too long. i'm happy to finally share it.

art at bumbershoot

aside from flatstock, there is another art exhibit i don't want to miss this year at bumbershoot either, the seattle-tehran poster show. last year they featured seattle-havana & i loved it, but this year has me even more excited. taken from the website, "co-curated with tehran designer iman raad, the seattle-tehran poster show is a selection of 50 posters from each city in a variety of mediums sharing cultural themes such as music, film, theater and contemporary art."

seattle-tehran poster show is open from 11am-8pm & in the northwest rooms of the seattle center.

ferris wheel cards

i'm not sure if they'll go up in the etsy shop or not. i'm all over them & using them in the near future - i just can't get over the ferris wheel thing.

a few mailers

one for my sister's good friend & one for work (in collaboration with a co-worker). just simple designs with warm palettes & a touch of vintage (this is a very good example of where my taste lies right now, see iso50 & liz tran).

the saint on capitol hill. the drinks are pricey & it seems a little out of place - but i love the colors & signage. i must also mention that the shrimp dish was really good.

after admiring this year's bumbershoot artwork (i'm sorry, did i tell you that i'm flipping my s*it about estelle & beck being there) - i stumbled upon the heads of state, a seattle & brooklyn-based design & illustration firm. ahh yes, another great duo making concert prints worth collecting.

yay! monday!

yay! monday! is a new (to me at least) weekly collection of art, photography, graphic design & illustration. the idea seems like a great alternative to blogging - give it to me all on monday. some of the work is highly sexual & some of it is an innocent as a baby lamb - all of the finds are quality.
