a chat over the weekend had me thinking about tools that would prove beneficial to me. the only thing i could think of that google hasn't already taken care of is an easy way to bookmark images. i currently right-click to save all images to my desktop then upload them to picasa libraries. this seems to work for the most part, but how great would it be to just save the thumbnail, then source and tag each image. well kids, it exists via we heart it,ffffound!, and vi.sualize.us (a great review of each here). ffffound! is invite only, boo. we heart it seems a little community intimidating. vi.sualize.us is a plug-in that allows you to right-click & add images to your library, sweet! i'm sold friends - you can check out my collection here.
i'm sorry for a less traditional handmade days, but i'm feeling nutty (blame it on the 1/3 cup of coffee i drank 3 hours ago) & it's funny, right?! also, i can't remember who to credit, if you know, let me know.
i won't say much, because i'm no expert. but mcqueen's armadillos have been all over the place lately (lady gaga & beyond), but this shoot really appealed to me. i love how the shoes set the tone for the entire shoot.
booooooom's project #10 is called small victories - a photographic project. it looks super fun & i may have to submit a few photos (like this one).
"Small Victories is a photographic celebration of the everyday! A collection of 4×6 prints of the quietly beautiful, unintentionally funny, people and things all around us. I believe it is these little moments that make life worth living. This project will culminate in a photo show at Above Second gallery in Hong Kong, in May."
i've been collecting my current inspirations to share with all of you beyond my blog. take a peak here for both albums, print inspiration & lifestyle inspiration.
please feel free to comment or send me an email if you find a photograph or work that is yours or you know who it is for proper credit. i'm not claiming any of this as my own & would love to share the sources.
i can't remember how i got here, but thank you to whoever it was. jjjjound features a great collection of fashion, lifestyle, celebrity, architecture photography with a splash of general style.
i went down to tacoma this morning for the nw trend show & on my way home i got the chance to snap some pics of pacific avenue. every time i drive this strip i want to bust out the camera; today was the perfect day for it - crisp, blue skies. tacoma is such a beautiful, but seemingly empty. i stare out at the port, all the cranes & large industrial buildings; all of this is paired with a quaint historic avenue with lovely old buildings, museums & public plazas - but it is so quiet.
another tip to all my favorite seattle readers - please please eat at afrikando afrikando. it is so delicious, the price is right & the people are friendly. there are some things you should know before going - it takes a while, the pace is slow & there is no booze (but the juices are to die for, tamarind & ginger, yummm). still, it's some of the best grub i've had in months.
